In the valleys of Kullu and Parvati, with the view on the snowy tops of the Himalaya mountains, we settled down to drink tea, play the local game of CarmBoard, chat with the locals and drink tea again. Oh and there were holy hot springs, in which the whole village bathed daily. Like everybody we got up at six (no we're not kidding) and 'cleaned' our bodies in the sulfur springs. We also had our first taste of yoga, from a very nice, blind (something we noticed after the course was finished) teacher. Lots of muscle aches, but a lot of fun!

Tiny Vanes on a Giant Rock
Vanes living her teenage dream in a cannabis plantation around Nagar.
Cannabis doesn't seem to be very special in the region. It grows everywhere like wild herbs. And the locals were happy to show us how to make hashish out of it. Though not officially legal, locals and tourists smoking chillum is very common. The production of cannabis (called charras) and apples are actually their main sources of income.
