Along the Mekong

Although Laos doesn't have sea, it has the Mekong river! And there are many beautiful islands to visit.
It was not difficult to adapt to Lao rhythm and take it easy. We mostly hung around the river, a little bit of cycling, a little bit of walking and a little bit too much noodle soup.

The island of Don Khong.

And the island of Don Daeng where we ran into the 'local band.' Spontaneously they took our instruments and  rocked some Lao songs. Unbelievable performance and some impressive guitar improvisations!

Don Daeng.

Wat Phu, a Khmer Hindu temple of the Angkor period, about 12-13rd century AD.
Nowadays Shiva has been replaced by Buddha.

After Wat Phu another highlight, an encounter with a duck.
