Back to the Himalayas

Spending two months away from India was long enough. We missed the diarrhea and the chaos. We climbed back up the Himalayas and spent 2 months in Dharamkot.
There we took some time to learn Tibetan massage, to play the Indian flute, make jewellery out of stones and threads, and wallets out of milk cartons. And we spent 10 days in almost (apart from the casual fart) complete silence doing Vipassana meditation.

Our second home: Om Cafe.
Where we spent many, many hours drinking tea, working in the kitchen, discussing different spiritual practices, chanting the Beatles and mantras at night, and partying with Seena and Kepi, the lovely couple in charge of the mess, uhhh cafe/restaurant, and their 2 dogs.

Iris came to visit! Lucie and Aymeric got as far as buying a ticket, but AirIndia decided it was time to go on strike....(merde!)

And then, there was a wedding in Dharamkot! In India they generally don't have guest lists, everyone is very welcome to join in! The groom got a fancy costume (if you look closely you can see the coconuts hanging from his belt).

The bride is crying the whole afternoon in her room. She has to leave her family to move in with her husband in another village. It's quite a drama, although part of the crying is apparently exaggerated. If you don't cry loud enough, it's seen as if you don't care much about leaving your family.

Giant pots of delicious curries are cooked and served the whole day. Everyone joins on the floor, eating with the hands (right hand only!) from plates of banana leaves.
