Let's go Farming!

After leaving the tropical island, we went WWOOFing in the north east of Thailand. WWOOFing is basically supporting organic farming by doing volunteer work. In exchange you'll get food and lodging and learn some new skills.
In our case we learned how to make pizza from a 12 year old Thai boy, how to properly celebrate the annual Water Festival (sorry no pictures, camera not water proof) and how to reuse plastic bottles as pretty plant pots. We had a lot of fun, but since organic farming appeared not to be the main income of the family, the farm work wasn't too serious.
We did plough the ground and planted some new vegetables though!

Our funny little house, made out of mud and straw. Mud houses used to be common, but cement and concrete have replaced them. It's a pity, for they're cool in summer and nice and warm in winter. They're very eco friendly, very cheap and you can be as creative as you want when building it.
The owner of the farm makes a living by giving courses in building mud houses.

And the bathroom.

After leaving the farm, Annemarie found her new Velo Vole in a local Thai bar. There was even a cajon, but no kazoo...
